The Queen Street development is located in the vibrant and dense urban, social and environmental context of Cooks Hill, Newcastle. Careful planning, analysis
and consideration of the design palette were undertaken to balance the traditional urban residential character, heritage context as well as future
development of neighbouring sites while reflecting a contemporary sustainable urban lifestyle.
Consisting of a commercial shop at ground level with 3 x 2 bedroom units above, each unit has been designed to maximise solar access and a north facing
common terrace area has been included to enhance the overall amenity for residents. The apartments are relatively shallow with a depth of 5-6m from
bedrooms through to private outdoor spaces assisting with natural ventilation.
