Ausgrid Greenacre Substation

The new 132/11kV Zone Substation is located close to the Greenacre urban centre and includes an enclosed switch building, transformer bays and equipment yard. 

Innovative solutions incorporated into the project include the use of a steel frames and metal clad lightweight wall systems to reduce overall project costs. SHAC faced a number of challenges throughout the design process related to achieving the correct level of security, as well as overpressure and ventilation requirements using steel framed construction.
